Lainie Yank, Reference Assistant

I started working as a Reference Assistant for Adult Services at Whitefish Bay Public Library in October of 2025. As a current student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, I'm pursuing an MLIS degree with a public library concentration and an MA in English with a concentration in literature and cultural theory. I was so excited to start the Reference Assistant position because I hope to work as a full-time librarian after graduation. When I'm not studying, teaching, or tutoring--or at the library--I can be found watching a Brewers game, at a local trivia night, or going to a concert in Milwaukee.

Freedom is a Constant Struggle

In this collection, Davis shrewdly elucidates the importance of intersectionality in both historic and contemporary liberatory struggles for civil rights. Her voice is both authoritative and accessible, building analysis through a series of interviews, speeches, and essays.
