Public Book Sales

The Friends hold two Public Book Sales each year. These sales are traditionally scheduled for Saturday and Sunday of the 1st weekend in May and in November!

  • We sell books, CDs, DVDs, puzzles and games.
  • Our non-fiction shelves are organized by category.
  • Our fiction shelves are sorted by the first letter of the author’s last name.
  • Most items are priced between $0.50 and $2.00, with specially priced items usually under $10.00.

The Friends Book Room

  • The Friends Book Room is located on the Library’s main floor to the left of the circulation desk.
  • The Book Room is open for shopping all year long during regular Library hours.
  • Volunteers re-stock the shelves frequently.
  • Prices are as marked, starting at $0.50.

Looking for vintage books, art books, scholarly works and special interest books?

Friends’ volunteers work year-round to research and list the most valuable items that come to us as donations. Purchases of books from our eBay Store will directly benefit Friends.

The History of “Baybooks53217FWFBL”

  • The Friends’ online sales adventure began around 2006, by selling a small number of valuable books on eBay.
  • By 2013, “Electronic Book Sales” became its own Friends committee with a volunteer team dedicated to scouting, researching and listing the most valuable donations on eBay.
  • The graph below shows how this operation has grown, especially during the COVID years when the library was closed to in-person use, and Friends had to cancel two of our community book sales.
  • As of February 2026. BayBooks53217FWFBL is a ‘Top Rated’ eBay seller with over 99% positive feedback, more than 17,000 items sold, and 500 plus followers.
