10th Anniversary Edible Book Festival 2025
Thu, May 15th
6:00 pm - 6:30 pm
2025 Edible Book Festival returns for our 10th year and we’re doing things a little differently. Edible books will be on display in the library and you can vote for your favorites from Tuesday, May 13 – Thursday May 15. We’ll host an award ceremony to announce the winners and hand out prizes on Thursday, May 15 at 6PM! Also please be advised that entries will be sitting out for a few days. Be mindful of ingredients that won't spoil during this time period.
What is an Edible Book?
An edible book is an item that looks like a book, puns on a title, refers to a character, or just has something to do with books. The only rule is that entries must be made from edible ingredients. Edible Book Festivals have been held all over the world, and there is array of examples found online. The festival started as a celebration to commemorate the birthday of French gastronome Jean-Anthelme Brillat-Savarin (1755-1826), famous for his book Physiologie du goût, a witty meditation on food.

The Edible Book Festival is open to anyone of any age including kids, teens and adults. Register your entry by Sunday, May 11 here.
Then make your edible book and drop off your creation by Monday, May 12at 8:30PM. Voting will be open from Tuesday, May 13 – Thursday, May 15 at 5PM. Award ceremony to follow at 6PM.

What can I make as an entry for the festival?
Need some inspiration for an entry? Make your very own edible book depicting your favorite book character. You can also take a cherished title and turn it into a pun (think “Much Ado About Muffins”). Or just make an entry that looks like a book or book cover. Still in need of inspiration? Search the web for “edible book festival.” Stop by the library and we’ll point you in the right direction.
