Custodian of Public Records
The Whitefish Bay Public Library (WFBPL) Board of Trustees (Board) has designated the Library Director as Custodian of Public Records for the WFBPL in order to meet its obligations under State public records laws. In addition, should the Director be unavailable, then Board President will serve as Deputy Custodian of Public Records held by the WFBPL.

Members of the public may obtain access to the WFBPL’s public records, or obtain copies of these records, by making a written request to the Library Director during the Library’s operating hours (see: www.wfblibrary.org for current hours). In some cases, records may require retrieval and therefore may not be immediately available for inspection. Every effort to will be made to respond to the open records request as soon as is practicable and without delay.

Open Records Request Form
An Open Records Request Form is available for written submission of open records request(s). Such requests should be made to: Library Director, Whitefish Bay Public Library, 5420 N Marlborough Drive, Whitefish Bay, WI, 53217

Fees
The cost of photocopying of records shall be $0.15 cents per side of page in black and white or $0.75 per side of page in color, which has been calculated to be the actual, necessary and direct cost of reproduction. There will be an additional charge for specialized documents and photographs, and for retrieving records and files from archives.

In some cases, such response costs may go beyond simply copying a requested record. Should the cost of locating a record exceed $50.00, that cost will be charged to the person making the request. In these cases, the Custodian of Public Records may charge for any and all costs associated with complying with an open records request up to and including applicable shipping, mailing and hourly staff wages. Per §19.35(3)(f) a prepayment of such costs associated with an open record request in access of $5.00 may be required prior to processing such open records request.
