The Whitefish Bay Public Library had small beginnings. We opened our doors on February 15, 1937 with approximately 1,600 books in the basement of Village Hall. Even back then, the community support helped the library to grow. In 1953, Friends of the Library formed to help raise awareness in the community about library needs. By 1955 the library moved to its own building. The location served the community well until the collection outgrew the space. Our current location opened in June 2002. We now have a beautiful 24,000 square-foot facility that houses our collection, meeting and study rooms, computers, and space for community events.

What does the future hold for the Whitefish Bay Public Library? That all depends on you and your support. Your tax-deductible contribution will insure that we can continue to bring you the type of services and materials that you’ve come to expect from us. And your gift will help our story continue for future residents of Whitefish Bay.

All financial donations are used to support the libraries general operations, such as programming and collections. We always accept donations in the form of cash or check. You can make an online donation here.
